I am a lifelong learner. I passionately pursue knowledge, motivated by any opportunity to better serve my community. I regularly post on LinkedIn, both narratives and tutorials.
My current profession is in Information Technology, with three main areas of focus:
- data networks: design, operation, monitoring, resilience
- system administration: Linux, FreeBSD, syslog, DHCP, DNS, Windows AD, F5 LTMs, and a whole lot more
- programming: Perl, bash, C++, C, Python, TCL – I pick these up quickly – which one should I study next?
I like to create music in my spare time. My primary instrument is piano, but I have been known to sing. I also dabble in guitar, and I have some history with a couple of different brass instruments. I regularly volunteer to participate in my small congregation’s worship team. On rare occasions, I post my musical creations to SoundCloud.
I am passionate about helping the most vulnerable members of under-served communities take advantage of the opportunities available to them. For me, this looks like teaching a STEM class at an afterschool program, or reading with gradeschoolers.
Early intervention yields long term dividends.
I’m sure there’s more I could say, but I’ll just let it be a mystery for now …
Cheers!
